I bought two of these books. One for myself and another to give to a new Christian friend. The chapters are simple and easy to read with the depth of subject matter progressing in later chapters once the foundation is established. It is fairly easy to read one chapter per night before bed (10-12 minute read) and talk about it with my friend the next day. I am only about half way through the book, but so far the information and doctrines held have been spot on. I am comfortable in a Presbyterian, Baptist or Charismatic non-denominational church setting. I believe that there is essential and non-essential doctrine. The author has all of the essentials in line with scripture and doesn't waste too much time on the non-essentials.

I converted alone. I had no idea where to begin.I found this book searching Amazon, and gave it a chance. I read it absolutely cover-to-cover, and it was exactly what I wanted so badly.It answers all the questions you have, simply. It reads like a second-grade textbook, in a really good way. It is almost like the Cliffs notes of the entire Christian faith. It will catch you up with the more experienced Christians in NO time. All Christians would benefit from reading this book, new or otherwise.

First - I have to admit that I have not finished reading the whole book. I bought the book to go through with a new believer. I don't think the author did the same. For someone new to Christianity, there's a lot of "Christian-ese" in the beginning of the book. I asked my friend how much she understood what we were reading and she said, "I'm catching bits and pieces here and there." Needless to say, I'm looking for a new book.

I am not a new Christian, yet this book has a lot of insight. I took a course that required this book as part of the study. This book helps one to understand the truths of the Bible. An interesting study for new Christians or seasoned believers.

I found the New Christian's Handbook to be very sound in answering many questions which new believers may have. Even older Christians can learn from this book. I ended up giving my copy to a young mother who had recently come to Christ and was asking me some questions that her non attending husband had posed to her. Hopefully by getting the book into their home, he too will be reached for Christ so their whole family can experience the difference Jesus makes in their life's journey. I will be ordering another copy soon.

I bought this book because I wanted a good introduction of the Christian faith. I wanted something that would be good to share with a new believer, and Max Anders produced exactly what I was looking for. Thirty Six chapters discussing important aspects of the Christian faith.

As a new Christian, I enjoyed this book. It explained some things that I was embarrassed to ask or that my husband (a cradle Catholic) had forgot. I have a feeling that I will be referring to and using this book for years to come, even after my RCIA classes are over.
