Seattle has one standout attraction that nearly every tourist will visit, the Space Needle. This book, despite its very recent publication, gets most if not all of the details related to visiting the Space Needle incorrect: price, hours, restaurant, etc. all wrong. Lonely Planet has clearly published an updated edition without bothering to update some core content. Some parts on Pike Place were also inaccurate. Silly too that it wastes words describing the bike share program that was dismantled pre-publication. I'd recommend looking to another book, or at least and older cheaper version with the same info...
The latest edition of LONELY PLANET SEATTLE is great, telling you all you need to know about sightseeing, dining, nightlife, shopping, recreation, and lodging in the Seattle area, as well as great day trips from Seattle. About the only thing not covered in depth is radio stations, but that's not really an issue, as you can find that information elsewhere. Overall, this book is great if you're traveling to the Seattle area, or are just interested in different areas of North America.
This is an excellent book covering the key aspects of the Seattle metro area. It is very well organized into the neighborhoods / districts and provides considerable useful information on getting around, side trips, and a little history. It is conveniently sized to slip in your backpack and includes a foldout map of the metro area. If your seeking information on the areas beyond the Seattle metro area it may not be the reference you need.
